Classes begin on April 17th at 7:00 AM at the training Facility.

Training

The new training facility has been filled for the past several weeks with apprentices and journeyman alike. Members have been in to take First Aid/CPR, Photovoltaic’s/Solar panel installation, lift training and The Code of Excellence. These classes will continue and others will be added over this summer.
The second Code of Excellence class will be April 15th and I hope all of you can make it. In May, there will be a First Aid/CPR class on the 16th and another on June 13th.  This class will not be conducted again until September so if you need it please call me and reserve a spot.  For those of you that still don’t have your Code update done we will have the last class of 2009 on Sept 19 & 26.
It’s a real pleasure having journeyman taking classes with the apprentices. Their class participation and camaraderie with the students is a reinforcement to an outstanding learning environment and a great example of what it is to be a member of Local 490. I really hope this kind of interest continues because I think were just scratching the surface of what we can accomplish in our program.
