Preamble to the Constitution of the IBEW

The Objects of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers are: To organize all workers in the entire electrical industry in the United States and Canada, including all those in public utilities and electrical manufacturing, into local unions; To promote reasonable methods of work; To cultivate feelings of friendship among those of our industry; To settle all disputes between employers and employ­ees by arbitration (if possible); To assist each other in sickness or distress; To secure employment; To reduce the hours of daily labor; To secure adequate pay for our work; To seek a higher and higher standard of living; To seek security for the individual, and by legal and proper means to elevate the moral, intellectual and social conditions of our members, their families and dependents, in the interest of a high­er standard of citizenship.

SB489
We Need You!!


Please join us Wednesday April 21st 2010 7:45am for a Rally at the IBEW Union Hall 48 Airport Rd. Concord, NH.  We will meet at the hall for coffee and pastries. At 8:15am we will leave for the state house and Rally out front in favor of SB489 to expand gaming in the state of NH.
This bill will create 100s of construction jobs, tax dollars and
permanent jobs when the projects are finished. The push is on, we need as much help as we can get.
Come join us, your presence is important.

Leo Hickcox

Leo Keyes Hickox, 67, of Marlborough, N.H., died April 2, 2010, in Ridgeland, S.C., as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born on May 2, 1942, in Hartford, Conn., the son of Douglas and Ruth (Bane) Hickox. He graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester, Conn., with the class of 1960. At about the age of 20 he moved to Marlborough, N.H. He went on to attend trade schools getting certifications in automotive mechanics and later as a master electrician.

He worked in construction for 30 plus years with the IBEW LOCAL No. 490 electricians union at such job sites as the then under construction Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant and more recently Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. Most recently, in his retirement, he was regularly found working in his home town at the Marlborough Recycling and Transfer Center.
